Question [Maya V] : How to treat cataract and glaucoma?

Asnwer:

Glaucoma: Homeopathic remedy for Glaucoma

Definition: Increased intraocular pressure.

Causes: Hypertension, senility, degeneration, infections, diabetes mellitus.

Symptoms: Headaches, pain and visual impairment. Ocular pressure should be tested by tonometry before and after therapy.

Treatment: Aconitum napellus; Belladonna atropa; Bryonia alba; Gelsemium sempervirens; Opium; Phosphorus; Spigelia anthelmia.

Aconitum napellus: Indicated in the acute form of glaucoma.

Belladonna atropa: When the onset is sudden and the eyes are exquisitely painful with acute inflammation, dryness and photo- phobia.

Bryonia alba: When the intraocular tension is raised and there is intense soreness, continuous lachrymation and photophobia. Gelsemium Most useful when the double vision (diplopia) is consempera'rens: tinuous; the vision is misty and severely diminished. The eyes feel bruised and under severe pressure.

Opium: The eyeballs feel expanded, swollen and under pressure. Vision is misty and blurred, the pupils are contracted and fixed {no reaction to light).

Phosphorus: Alleviates the pain and limits the degenerative changes.

Spigelia anthelmia: The eyeballs feel too large and pulled back into the skull. Of great value with sharp, shooting and stitching pains, which are particularly worse by movement and at night. Palpitations are often associated.

Homeopathic remedy dosage

Select the remedy that most closely matches the symptoms. In conditions where self-treatment is appropriate, unless otherwise directed by a physician, a lower potency (6X tablets or 30C liquid) should be used. In addition, instructions for use are usually printed on the label.

I suggest that remedies be used as follows: Take 2-3 drops of selected remedy in ¼ th glass of water, preferably empty stomached, 3 doses 8 hourly for at least 3 days and wait for a response. If improvement is seen, continue to wait and let the remedy work. If improvement lags significantly or has clearly stopped, another dose may be taken. The frequency of dosage varies with the condition and the individual. Sometimes a dose may be required several times an hour; other times a dose may be indicated several times a day; and in some situations, one dose per day (or less) can be sufficient.

If no response is seen within a reasonable amount of time, select a different remedy.

Question [Anonymous Dude] : What medicine can i get to relieve this?

I feel this tightness in my throat like something is choking me. I have anxiety/stress. What OVER THE COUNTER medicine can I get that relieves this .. I think its muscle tightness.

Answer:

I think I know what is wrong with you, but you still need to visit the doctor if this is the case. It could be pharyngitis. This is inflammation of the back of the throat and causes choking like sensation (like you have something stuck in your throat). Lycopodium is a homeopathic remedy and it helps with constricted throat and choking. Take 2-3 drops of selected remedy in ¼ th glass of water, preferably empty stomached, 3 doses 8 hourly for at least 3 days and wait for a response. If improvement is seen, continue to wait and let the remedy work. If improvement lags significantly or has clearly stopped, another dose may be taken. Question [Matt L] : Need help with smelly gas... Is there an answer? help?

________________________________________________

Answer:

Indigestion and gas can be caused by poor eating habits, emotional tension, food allergies, imbalances in stomach acid or digestive enzymes, and many other causes. For moderate problems, homeopathy can offer a number of safe and gentle remedies.

Carbo vegetabilis: Sour belching bringing only small relief, burning pain in the stomach and abdomen, and flatulence after eating may be seen when this remedy is needed. The person feels cold and faint, with a strong desire for fresh or moving air. Digestion may be slow and incomplete, with nausea or cramping.

Lycopodium: This remedy is indicated for many digestive troubles. The person’s appetite may be ravenous, but eating even a small amount can cause a feeling of fullness and bloating. Rumbling gas may form in the abdomen, pressing upward and making breathing difficult. The person often has a strong desire for sweets, is sleepy after meals, and feels worst in the late afternoon and evening.

Nux vomica: This remedy is often useful for indigestion, and is especially suited to those who overindulge in stimulants, food, and alcohol. Chilliness, irritability, and sensitivity to odors, sound, and light are often seen. Pain and weight can be felt in the stomach, with cramps or constricting pains. The person often feels an urge to vomit or move the bowels (which may make the person feel better, but is rarely successful).

Phosphorus: Burning pain in the stomach that feels better from eating ice cream or other cold, refreshing foods suggests a need for this remedy. The person is usually thirsty for cold drinks, but often feels nauseous or vomits once liquids warm up in the stomach. People needing Phosphorus may have a tendency toward easy bleeding and sometimes develop stomach ulcers.

Pulsatilla: Indigestion that is worse from eating rich and fatty foods, with a feeling of a lump or pulsation in the stomach, suggests a need for this remedy. Discomfort often is worse from warmth, especially in a stuffy room, and the person may feel better from gentle walking in open air. A bitter taste in the mouth can take the pleasure out of eating. A person who needs Pulsatilla usually does not feel thirsty and may be tearful and emotional.

The frequency of dosage varies with the condition and the individual. Sometimes a dose may be required several times an hour; other times a dose may be indicated several times a day; and in some situations, one dose per day (or less) can be sufficient.

If no response is seen within a reasonable amount of time, select a different remedy.

Question [Yes I can!] : How to treat or live with Hypothiroidism?

What are you taking?
Is there a specific Diet?
What are the symptoms?

I was Diagnosed with HypoThyroid a year in half ago and I still get sick and not feel good. I take blood work every 3 months and get a check up every 3 months as well and last time dr said I was going better and that my cells were much better on the last blood work but I still feel some of the symptoms.

Answer:

The prefix 'hypo' means less than normal. 'Hyper' mean more than normal. So hypothyroidism means that the thyroid gland is not producing enough thyroid hormone. Symptoms are usually fatigue, intolerance to cold, sluggishness, depression, lack of concentration, inability to manage weight loss or gain, constipation, coarse/dry skin and hair and diminished basal metabolic rate.

Some of the other symptoms of thyroid dysfunction are hair loss, sensitivity to hot or cold, menstrual irregularities, abnormally low blood sugar, puffiness around eyes or ankles, and increase in serum cholesterol.

A typical medication for this is "Synthroid" which will most likely need to be taken indefinitely.

Conventional thyroid treatment treats all cases of hypothyroidism by seeking to replace the natural hormone with synthetic hormones. The dosage is determined based on trial and error.

Natural thyroid medication that uses hormone replacement therapy makes the use of hormones prepared from pig tissue. These can at times, interfere with the natural functioning of the human body.

Alternative thyroid treatments like homeopathy, seek to ascertain the root cause of the disease. Homeopathy is based on the principal that a group of symptoms produced by a particular remedy in a healthy person will cure a similar set of symptoms in a sick individual. A homeopathic physician prescribes thyroid medications based on individual symptoms.

Various homeopathic remediesImage via Wikipedia

Homeopathy requires a lot of time and effort since the physician needs to study patient history, living styles, diet preferences and mannerisms into before prescribing a customized remedy.

Sometimes simple procedures may be prescribed instead of medicines to ensure efficient and fast healing. Some of these may include:

* A gentle tapping of the thyroid gland ten times, three time a day
* Soaking the feet in water with sea salt
* Rubbing feet with a mixture of castor oil and kelp tincture, wrapping in plastic overnight

Homeopathic remedies do not interfere with the natural healing process of the body. On the contrary, they stimulate the body organs to restore normal body function. With regard to hypothyroidism, this would mean that homeopathic remedies reactivate hormone secretions.

The main aim of homeopathy and other alternative thyroid treatments is to aid in self-healing so that synthetic products can be avoided.

Homeopathic treatment of Hypothyroidism

There is no single drug or single remedy in homeopath for hypothyroidism. Homeopathy approaches different situations of hypothyroidism in different ways. For instance, if someone who is obsessive, feels very hot and can’t stop hurrying and if the patient is dark eyed or dark haired, they are given Iodum 30c. In a same way, a patient with constipation, earthy complexion and with palpitations is given the medicine called Natrum mur. 30c. if the patient is having flushed face and staring eyes, he or she should receive Lycopus 30c and patient with heart pounding and racing, Lycoups 30c will be preferred medicine. These all can be taken every hour for up to 10 doses.

Another specific remedy to be taken every twelve hours for up to five days is giving Arsenicum Album 30c. This is been used to treat the disease since years. Homeopathy also offers good prognosis to cases of hypothyroidism. Some people practice with different approach of homeopathic medicines for hypothyroidism. This includes Calcarea Phos, Lapis Alb, Thyroidinum, Calcarea Iod, Calcarea Carb, Fucus Vesiculosus, Bromium, Iodine.etc.

Question [mskay] : No period in quite a while?

My last period was about 3.5 to 4 months ago. I went to the doc when I was 2 weeks late and got a blood test done and it was negative. Could I still be pregnant? Or can I get pregnant at any time? I want to start birth control, but there really isn't a way to know if I'm pregnant or not since I have no idea when I would have ovulated.

I don't really know what my question is, I just would like some facts to help me maybe. Since I'm so irregular I really don't know what to do.
